What is Sublimation Printing?

Sublimation printing is a digital printing process where special sublimation inks are used to transfer designs onto polyester or polymer-coated substrates. The ink turns into gas when heated and bonds with the fibers at a molecular level, resulting in vibrant, durable, and permanent prints.

How It Works:

  1. Design Printing: The artwork is printed in reverse onto special sublimation transfer paper using sublimation inks.

  2. Heat Transfer: Using a heat press (around 180-200°C), the printed design is transferred from the paper to the substrate.

  3. Sublimation Process: The heat converts the ink into gas, which penetrates the polyester fabric or coated surface, embedding the color permanently.

  4. Cooling: After cooling, the design becomes part of the material with no additional layers on top.

Uses of Sublimation Printing:

  • Apparel: Polyester t-shirts, sportswear, activewear, and uniforms.

  • Home Decor: Cushions, curtains, tablecloths, and bed linens.

  • Promotional Items: Mugs, mousepads, phone cases, keychains, and coasters (using polymer-coated surfaces).

  • Signage & Graphics: Polyester banners, flags, and soft signage.

  • Personalized Gifts: Photo panels, puzzles, and custom accessories.

Advantages of Sublimation Printing:

  • Vibrant & Long-lasting Colors: Resistant to fading, cracking, or peeling.

  • Soft Feel: Since the ink embeds into fibers, prints are smooth and flexible.

  • Eco-friendly: Uses water-based inks, no solvents.

  • High Detail & Resolution: Ideal for complex, colorful designs.
